MCP Server Guide

The SUSE Multi-Linux Manager MCP Server connects Model Context Protocol (MCP) clients and AI assistants to the SUSE Multi-Linux Manager API. It provides tools for inspecting systems, assessing patches and CVEs, reviewing scheduled actions, and, when explicitly enabled, changing managed systems.

This guide explains how to:

  • Select a local standard input/output (stdio) or network HTTP deployment.

  • Configure the connection to SUSE Multi-Linux Manager.

  • Connect an MCP client.

  • Configure authentication and apply security controls.

  • Use the available read-only and state-changing tools.

  • Diagnose common configuration, connectivity, and authorization problems.
